Why a "Typical" Moisturizer Will Never Make You Look Younger, and in Fact, Accelerate the Aging Process...

Most commercial creams and lotions are predominantly water. Their moisture is quickly absorbed into dry, wrinkled skin. As the water enters the skin, it expands the tissues, like filling a balloon with water, so that wrinkles fade away and the skin feels smoother. But this is only temporary.

As soon as the water evaporates or is carried away by the blood stream, the dry, wrinkled skin returns. No matter how hard you try people will never be able to permanently cure dry, wrinkled skin with any commercial body lotion or body care products.

Besides the water, most lotions have an oil of some type. This oil is almost always a highly refined vegetable oil devoid of all natural protective antioxidants. Or worse, it is a petroleum derivative such as mineral oil.

These petroleum products coat the skin like plastic - clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins. They can slow cellular development, creating earlier signs of aging.

Shea Butter:
Shea butter has been used In Africa for many centuries. It is produced from an edible nut of a fruit from The Shea Tree or The Karite. This all-natural product has been around for centuries. In fact, it is believed that some of the early users of shea butter were such noted women as Cleopatra and the Queen of Sheba. About 200 years ago, Europeans rediscovered shea butter.

Shea Butter nourishes the skin with Vitamins A, E and F. Vitamins A and E help maintain the skin and keep it clear and healthy. They are particularly helpful for sun damaged skin. They help prevent premature wrinkles and facial lines. Vitamin F acts as a skin protector and rejuvenator. It soothes rough, dry or chapped skin and helps soften dry or damaged hair. Shea Butter is high in unsaponifiables (a type of fat). Shea Butter has between 7-12% unsaponifiables. For comparison, avocado oil, a well known skin conditioner, has between 2-6%.

Coconut Oil:
Coconut oil is the best natural source of essential fatty acids, which will give the skin a natural glow. It also prevents the formation of free radicals and can keep the skin from forming unsightly liver spots.

It helps to keep connective tissues strong, which helps to prevent sagging of the skin. Additionally, it helps to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells, making the skin smoother.

Jojoba Oil:
Jojoba is a perennial woody shrub grown primarily in the desert regions of the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. Native Americans have long used jojoba oil to help heal sores and wounds.

Jojoba oil is actually composed of liquid wax esters rather than oil. The body's natural sebum also contains wax esters, which act as a sort of natural moisturizer and environmental barrier for the skin. However, wax ester production steadily decreases with age, causing the skin to appear dull and emphasizing wrinkles; a reduced ester content in the skin can also lead to the development of conditions such as psoriasis, dandruff and rosacea.

Jojoba oil contains many important nutrients, such as vitamin E, B complex vitamins, and the minerals silicon, chromium, copper, and zinc. It also contains a lot of Iodine, which may be where jojoba gets its ability to fight against bacterial and fungal infection.

Vegetable Glycerin oil:
Derived from vegetable oils. Glycerin is popular in beauty products because it is a humectant, which means it absorbs water and helps seal in moisture.

Vanilla Oil:
Vanilla oil is a powerful antioxidant. It neutralizes free radicals which cause oxidation of the living cells and tissues. It also smells divine and is a known aphrodisiac.

Tea Tree Oil:
Used for centuries by the native Australian Aborigines, and known for it's "cure-all" properties, tea tree is one of the most potent of all essential oils. Its properties include being an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, anti-viral and anti-septic.

Carrot Seed Oil:
Carrot seed oil is one of the most rejuvenating and regenerating oils that can be used in skincare. It helps to improve the complexion, by removing toxic build-up in the skin and eliminating excess water from the tissue. It is rich in beta-carotine and vitamins B, C, D and E . It improves the complexion of the skin, due to its strengthening effect on red blood cells, while toning the skin and increasing elasticity and firmness.

Sandalwood Oil:
Extracted from an evergreen tree native to India. It is so valuable that each tree is owned and controlled by the govemment. The oil of the sandalwood tree is very difficult to obtain. The tree must be allowed to mature, sometimes taking thirty years or more, before the oil can be extracted from its roots. It is, in part, for this reason that the essential oil of the sandalwood tree is so prized and so expensive. It is a master at helping the skin retain moisture.

Grapefruit Oil:
Grapefruit has a high vitamin C content and is therefore valuable to the immune system. Stimulates the lymphatic system and thereby clearing the body of toxins. It helps to clear congested oily skin and also assists with acne, while toning the skin and tissues. Used in this formula as a natural preservative.
